Project Description

Renovate the existing space in the Orbach library basement to create a clinical skills and simulation suite, which will serve the School of Medicine program.

Anticipated Construction Start: April 2020

Anticipated Construction Completion: February 2021
 

The finished project will develop updated Library office/administrative spaces, a new SOM student/faculty/staff lounge space, and Clinical Skills suite, including mock exam rooms, ER/ICU simulation spaces and support spaces. This is a major renovation that will involve removal/modification/installation of demising walls, flooring, lighting, mechanical systems and casework.

    Please be advised that the following activities will be occuring from 6:30am to 3:30pm on the Orback Library site and adjacent areas week of May 4th.

    • Building construction barricades and door in the corridors leading to the loading dock
    • Cover all other non-construction doors with visqueen and zipper for dust control
    • Deliver temporary bathrooms and hand washer to the Construction site
    • Setup Kitchell team office area

    Continuous noises on site: Delivery trucks (back-up alarms), saws, screw guns, and hammers.

    The team recognizes that construction activities will at times pose inconveniences and disruption to the staff located within the library and surrounding areas. We thank you for your patience during construction of this project.
